Sonja's surgery went well

Sonja did just great. They think her eye was likely causing her a bit of pain before removal.

The surgery site is swelling some so we'll use cold packs for a couple days. She will start pain meds and antibiotics to prevent infection tomorrow morning. Hopefully she will leave the stitches alone, but we have an E-collar waiting if needed.

Sonya is staying with Maggie and Marisa in Corvallis during her heal time. I thank them so much for doing this for Sonja and for me. Keeping her calm and resting with a pack of seven her at my house would have been a challenge. If they fall in love with her she will become their dog.

It's been a long day for us all. Thanks to everyone for your support and prayers. And a big thank you to Dr. Harter for her excellent skill and devotion to shelter animals.

I hope she heals quickly and finds her home in the process! :)
