Sky has arrived!

Isn't she just beautiful? Petite with big ears, and a cuddle bug too. Sky is adjusting into with the pack quickly. It was wonderful to have a sunny afternoon to spend outdoors with all the dogs. She came in as an owner surrender to a local shelter. An older person with a pup that was a bit too much for them. So no harm done to the pup, she just needs training and exposure to the big wide world. We'll get to know her a bit before she's posted for adoption.

Southern OR/Northern CA Need help

I'm posting this for those living near southern OR and northern CA. I'm sure if you live in other areas transport could be arranged if you care to help.

Border Collie Rescue of Northern California, Inc. desperately needs Foster Homes for our Border Collies. Every day we have to turn down wonderful, deserving dogs because there is no room at the inn. These dogs are euthanized at shelters every day. PLEASE HELP US. A secure yard/kennel is required, dogs should sleep in the house at night in a crate. You should have time to train, socialize and exercise the Border Collie. The dogs need to be house trained and obedience trained. They are placed as companions first, competition & herding dogs second. This is the PERFECT answer for the dog lover who has to travel part of the year and cannot keep a full time pet. Take a Border Collie for the time you know you will be at home. You will reap the rewards of pet ownership without the fulltime responsibility. And living with a Border Collie is special. Not always easy, but special. We are not financially responsible for any damage to your property while caring for a B.C. We do pay for the dog's expenses to include food and veterinary care as long as expenses are authorized by Rescue. This is not a job for a first time pet owner, but someone who has experience with dogs. If you would like to help please fill out our foster application, or for more information email Terri at tld4now@aol. com Visit the web site http://www.bcrescuenc.org/

Rueben's new pastime

Updates always bring joy to the heart.

Rueben was a very special little foster dog to me so it is especially wonderful to see how much he loves his new life.

What great exercise for a Border Collie and his humans, thank you Anita and Laurel.

Sky and her best friend

Want to lay down for a nap too?

Sky looking for a home

This young female Border Collie is finishing her shelter required quarantine time and being spayed this week. Her current foster mom is working with Sky on some resource guarding issues. I've met Sky and her pictures don't due her justice. She is very cute and playful. She should have an experienced owner willing to continue her training. I'll continue to update info on her.

Sonja's settled in her new home

Sonja's eye surgery site has healed wonderfully. The mom and daughter that cared for her will now keep her as their own. Thanks to all who sent emails of healing thoughts for Sonja, she's doing great.
