Lucy's going to be a California Girl

A life in Northern California couldn't be too bad. Going on trail rides, hiking, hanging out on a small farm and having your own human to love what more could a velcro dog wish for? Thanks to Hillary for taking Lucy to live in paradise.
We met in Medford for the adoption. After a lovely visit and breakfast Lucy traveled south to Woodacre. She will be missed for sure.

To Roseburg they went

To update those interested Rowdy and Maggie went together to live with a nice lady in Roseburg. Apparently she drove all the way to meet Maggie and just couldn't leave Rowdy behind. I wish them all well.

Two soon to be homeless

If you have thought about fostering we sure could use your help. Rowdy (top photo) and Maggie are posted on the PNWBCRescue.org Independent page. Their owner passed away we have three weeks to find them somewhere to live permanently or as fosters.

Rueben?

Rueben is a sandwich that could be made on Wonder Bread right? Well, if it was rye wonder bread.
Rye was a good name idea, but I struggle to get it out of my big mouth, ha. I'm thinking Rueben might fit, Rue for short. I suppose when he has a new family they will change his name anyway. For now Rueben will do.

Ha ha, funny tittle you think?

I answered a craigslist ad. I generally don't as the dogs usually aren't in danger of being harmed or killed. But when I read this one I just had to.

Free PureBread Bordor Collie was the headline. So I answered by email. 24 hours later my reply that I would take the dog was clear enough. So after short drive we had our newest addition. Haven't thought of a proper name yet, so wonder "bread" fits for the moment. This 4 month old male is in great shape, had some shots and was wormed. Flea free too. I see now that he didn't need "rescuing", but I sure love having him. He washes faces nicely and adds a huge amount cuteness to the pack. He and Erin play for hours.

Name suggestions are welcome. We were thinking of sandwich names but none sound cute enough.

Smudge Surprise

An update on ol' Smudge. She was adopted on Friday! Diana, a dear lady living nearby, adopts one senior dog at a time to love and care for till the end. Diana was starting a three week vacation and her goal was to fill her home with a new canine as her last had passed on. I'm thrilled for Smudge and Diana. Good health to them both.

Miss Lucy McNab

Lucy is doing wonderfully. I'm guessing she is a McNab. This web site describes the McNab line.



She is a very soft dog, taking even the slightest correction by dropping flat to the ground. Lucy is a face washer and an ear cleaner she also works well as a blanket. Her herding drive is very apparent as she controls a chosen dog in the pack during playtime.

Lucy reminds me of another foster I had a year or so ago, Mora. Quick, fast, and energetic, but able to be calm in the house. She's just a little dog weighing about 25 pounds. The difference in the "chained" photos and the newest ones are obvious.
