We came home after going out for a bite to eat to find the ewe we'd been calling "Pink Butt" cleaning off a tiny little lamb. A girl, it took her a while to get the strength to stand up but she finally made it.
Mom continued to have contractions. The neighbors all gathered to watch the show. She constantly cooed to her babe the whole time.
"Pink Butt" was nick-named that because she had a very pink rear end when she arrived back in June. She is the most tame of all the ewes coming up for pets and treats anytime we are near the fence or in the yard.
Within a short time I saw a nose peek out and the second lamb came into the world. A boy quite a bit bigger. He was up and standing much quicker than the girl.
See the little black spot on the orange tinted lamb? She kept coming to me so I'd turn her around and shove her back to mom. I backed away not wanting to confuse her.
This morning they are much more clean and dry. Still wobbly, but have found where the food comes from...

This is the new girl with one of the twin boys born on July 19th.
The older lambs are very interested in the newest additions to the field.
Our flock has grown to 9 now and the ewe named double wide still hasn't popped. That will be a big event I'm sure. Could be three or four in her!
