Cooter what a name for a girl

This is "Cooter" a 2 year old female Border Collie. She is spayed and all of her shots are current. Cooter has lived her life inside a fenced yard with nothing to do. Her owner has grown tired of her and has decided to take her out and shoot her this Thursday on his day off. She is quite timid and not a working dog, therefore has no value. His girlfriend is trying to save her by contacting Best Friends of Baker. We are more than glad to rescue her, but do not have any foster homes for her. We will board her if necessary if one of you could take her and get her away from the "idiot" owner. Please let me know if anyone can take her. Carmen
I received the above email last night. Just another fine example of the human race!
This morning I heard Cooter has been whisked away to safety till she can be transported to a foster home yet unknown. I personally don't have room for another female. Any takers?

Often we meet the dogs being transported at the Troutdale Outlet Mall. Help with transporting is always welcome.

Update Feb. 24,2010 Cooter has found a foster home so she is now safe. Some of us thought the guy should turn the gun on himself and eliminate the world of one worthless man instead of his dog.

Anna from Highway

Anna was possibly hit by a car animal control was called so she received the medical help she needed. A bandaged broken toe and numerous little abrasions were the first damage seen. After arriving here she's been doctored a bit more. Ear infections, a painful skin condition resulting in hair loss, fleas and ticks fill her med sheet. She's a very good patient though. About 5 years old and intact so surgery will be in her near future too.

2-25-10 Update on Anna.
She is resting peacefully on a small farm in Jefferson. I thank Toni for fostering Anna, she will rest much better there. If Toni doesn't flunk fostering by keeping her, we will post Anna after some more heal time and her spay surgery.

Bonnie

Bonnie is our recent addition to the pack here at Shedd. A cattle dog Border Collie cross transferred from the humane society because she couldn't handle the kennel life. We are glad to have her. She will be up for adoption soon.
Update 3-7-10 Bonnie has gone to live with some famous professional runners that live in Eugene Oregon. They are thrilled to have some one to accompany them on their daily exercise.

Valentine is now Rudolph Valentino/Rudy for short

Update above: Look at Rudy's new world. I'm so happy for him and his humans. And even a CAT!

"Tino" for short. Off to his new home with a couple willing to spoil him rotten. I will miss my partner on the couch. They promised updates which I will post as soon as I get them. Good lovin' Tino!

Are they having fun?

The pack had a great day out splashing in the yard. I'm so sick of mud, got the floor mopped while they played. Still have thought of a name for this boy, how about Valentine? Ahh. He has a real even temperament, not needy like some, secure enough to be outside by himself. I shouldn't jinx it, but no soiling in the house either. What a good little one.

Post breakfast photos

He's starting to feel comfortable enough to get down off the couch and play with the pack.

Now named Valentine

What a cutie, he still has is baby teeth. Doesn't act like he's been indoors before seeing the TV was new for him. We will get some more photos soon. He was picked up as a stray. Funny how these youngsters are just out wandering on their own and no one seems to miss them or want them back. Well I'm glad to have him.
